Privacy Policy
Effective June 9, 2026
Mercatle ("we", "us") is a daily geography game for iOS. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short because we collect little.
Information we collect
- Account. When you sign in with Apple or with an email and password, we receive your email address (or an Apple relay address) and store an account identifier. You may optionally set a display name and country.
- Gameplay. Your puzzle results (scores, distances, correct answers), streaks, and earned badges, so we can show your stats, streaks, leaderboards, and achievements.
- Subscriptions. If you buy Mercatle Pro, our payments provider (RevenueCat, on top of Apple's App Store) records your subscription status. We never see or store your card details — Apple handles payment.
How we use it
- To run the daily game, save your progress, and sync it across your devices.
- To show leaderboards. You can hide yourself from leaderboards at any time in Settings.
- To unlock and restore your Mercatle Pro features.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the app:
- Supabase — our database and authentication.
- RevenueCat and Apple — subscriptions and payments.
- Mapbox — the live satellite maps shown in the game.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
What we don't collect
No advertising identifiers, no background location tracking, no contacts, no analytics profiles sold to anyone.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account and gameplay data until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account), or by emailing us. Subscription records held by Apple/RevenueCat are governed by their own retention rules.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you can opt out of leaderboards at any time. To make a request, email us.
Children
Mercatle is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the app.
